The CCC bids farewell to the end of the year with an inspiring flash fiction.
We wish you happy holidays and a bold start into the new year 2025.
“We had dug ourselves in deeper and deeper. My mother tells me that her grandmother taught her children:
Dig in the ground. People who put their hands in the ground are happy. We never stopped doing that. Now we’ve reached so far into the earth’s crust that the sun is only known from stories. The air is still clean here, the soil fertile. Our seeds don’t need sunlight to sprout, just like us.”
“We had always flown higher. My father tells me that his grandfather always advised everyone to reach for the stars. Only by reaching for a higher goal can a man become happy. Now we have reached a place where there is no higher ground. So now we are pushing forward into the expanse. There is still plenty of space here. Everyone can spread out, stretch their arms out wide. You no longer get in each other’s way.”
