The CLIMATE:Lab series was launched in December 2020. Each event is dedicated to a specific topic: information is provided on various research topics, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary projects are presented and discussed with the audience.

The second event is dedicated to climate-friendly mobility and the transport transition.

Climate-friendly Travel - How the Transport Transition in Berlin & Brandenburg can succeed

In order to make transport in Berlin more climate-friendly and humane in the future, the Berlin Mobility Act was passed in the House of Representatives a few years ago. The aim was to improve cycling, walking and the use of public transport in particular. The coronavirus crisis and the increased need for cycle paths in German cities have made it clear how quickly and effectively changes in transport are possible.

So what lessons and conclusions can be drawn from recent years for climate-friendly, active mobility in the future?
What challenges will the urban planning and energy sectors have to face?
Are there lessons and conclusions that we can draw from the coronavirus crisis?

As part of the online event, research projects by (young) scientists and spin-offs of the participating partners were presented via video pitch.
