International Two-day Symposium on Climate Research
As part of the funding provided by the Einstein Foundation Berlin, a two-day, high-calibre international symposium will take place at the beginning of June. Scientists from the Berlin-Brandenburg metropolitan region will discuss pressing issues of urban climate transformation with leading international experts.
The symposium will focus on these six key topics: Urban Climate Policy, Data Use and Artificial Intelligence for Climate Strategies, Design Aspects and Behavioural Incentives, Public Health and Mobility. In short inputs, the scientists will present their current research projects and research topics in thematic clusters and then discuss them in interdisciplinary panels.
Robert Socolow, US scientist and pioneer in the establishment of environmental and energy studies as a legitimate field of research for physicists, will open the second day with the keynote speech “When values are contradictory: Lessons from 50 years of environmental management”.
