Sustainable Futures – III. Symposium BOL X Hybrid Plattform
Venue:
Berlin Open Lab, Universität der Künste

The symposium will focus on how new materials and transformative working methods can be used to make futures more sustainable and desirable.Researchers and artists from the Berlin Open Lab (UdK Berlin) and TU Berlin will report on diverse topics such as 3D clay printing in architecture, AI optimisation for the baking industry, microbiomes and multisensory experiences with sourdough, the social acceptance of mycelial architecture, velvet fabrics as e-textiles and the digitalisation of knowledge about ancient craft techniques and materials.
The symposium deliberately aims to highlight hybrid and interdisciplinary practices from art and science that bring the question of materiality to the fore in the overlapping of analogue and digital fields.
