The effect of information framing on policy support: Experimental evidence from urban policies

CO2 taxes are now quite well developed. However, very little is known about the public’s perception of local and sectoral policy options to reduce emissions. However, these can simultaneously contribute to solving other environmental problems, such as air pollution from transport and biodiversity loss due to land use change.

In the project, survey experiments with international samples were conducted and analysed. It focussed on subnational and urban instruments for climate change mitigation and adaptation. The focus was on the metropolitan areas of Paris and Berlin, and researcher Dr Johanna Arlinghaus will provide insights into the results of the project at this event, which takes place as part of the Oxford Talks.

The research project “The effect of information framing on policy support: Experimental evidence from urban policies” was coordinated by Technische Universität Berlin with the participation of other national and international partners. The Climate Change Centre Berlin Brandenburg funded the project.
